Representatives for Justin Bieber claim that the “unnecessary stories and inaccurate assumptions” that are currently going around regarding the Canadian pop singer are not factual.
The Hollywood Reporter released a piece on Wednesday called “Justin Bieber’s Crisis of Faith? In the article “Why Fans, Insiders Are Concerned,” a former team member asserted that the 31-year-old singer incurred millions of dollars in debt following the cancellation of his 2022 Justice World Tour.
Bieber’s team expressed their disappointment that they no longer collaborate with Justin in a statement, calling the report “clickbait stupidity based on unnamed — and clearly ill-informed—sources.”
These pointless rumors and false presumptions will persist while Justin paves his path. However, they won’t stop him from remaining dedicated to doing the right thing,” his team continued.
The Hollywood Reporter also featured a statement from Bieber’s representatives refuting the allegations of significant financial difficulties. His team informed the publication, “Any source that is trying to sell you a story about alleged financial distress … either doesn’t understand the entertainment industry or, more likely, is trying to paint an unflattering portrait of Justin, which bears no resemblance to reality.”
According to the story, Bieber “triggered a series of financial consequences that are still plaguing the artist today” when he canceled the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In March 2023, Bieber formally canceled the tour dates that would have taken the artist to the United States, Europe, Australia, and some parts of Asia. Fans would receive a refund for their ticket purchases, according to his official tour page. Insiders estimate that Bieber owed the tour operator AEG an estimated $20 million, according to the Hollywood Reporter piece. Additionally, according to the article, Bieber received a $40 million advance for the tour.
According to the publication, Bieber has only partially returned the items he borrowed thus far. The story mentioned the star’s financial difficulties as well as the worries others have had for her mental health.
There had already been multiple postponements of the tour. Bieber postponed many shows in June 2022 following his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which results in partial facial paralysis.
